Roadmap JIRA support for mysql 8.0 available?

Axel Hinz January 14, 2020

Hi all,

I need to update Debian Server from oldstable to stable. This will break confluence (which resides together with JIRA on one instance) support of postgresql. Switching to mysql, confluence supports mysql 8.0. I try to avoid migrating twice.

Has anyone _any_ roadmap describing upcoming support of JIRA for mysql 8.0?
Then I would be able to reschedule the upgrade.

BR Axel

This was recently answered in community by an Atlassian team member.  You can see the answer here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Confirm-support-roadmap-for-MySQL-8-x/qaq-p/1113921 and the open feature request here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-67359?_ga=2.2353910.714139762.1578931152-210123836.1570633899

At this time it does not look like they have a date that they have committed to.  You can upvote and follow the feature request to get the most up to date information on when it will be coming.

Thanks Brant!

I already found the feature request, but understandling the timeline is easier with the first link -- as it shows that for more than half a year nothing did happen. However -- I think going for mysql 5.7 should be indicated here. I bet three weeks after my migration the support for 8.0 will be realized! ;)
