Roadmap support for task/subtask planning in nextgen kanban boards

Hello,

Aplogies if this has been answered somewhere else, I'm new to Jira and still finding my way around.

I have setup a nextgen kanban board for my project, created an epic for our MVP and mapped out all tasks and subtasks associated with it.

I can seee the epic and all tasks in the roadmap view, but the display won't show start/end times for each task on the chart.

If i change all tasks into epics and all sub tasks into tasks associated with the corresponding epic would this resolve my issue? I don;t think so, as tasks don't seem to be represented into roadmap view.

Can somebody please help me with this please?

At present, the Next-Gen Roadmap only shows Epics and their children (i.e story-level, so Bugs, Stories, Tasks, etc). The story-level issues are only visualised as belonging to the Epic - these don't have a start / end dates or a visual bar.

These are suggestions that are outstanding to enhance these:

• JSWCLOUD-18668: Date range for child issues on roadmap
• JSWCLOUD-18677: Option to Drill Down to Sub-Task in Next-Gen Roadmap

I'd suggest voting on these and following them for more updates :) - you can also see what is coming up soon in the Public Roadmap

At present, if you want this level of granularity, I would suggest checking out Jira Portfolio - where you can show the breakdown of work and each issue type's start / end dates.
