Hey,
For quite some time I've been using an automation that copied value from Team field of the parent, whenever parent was changed. Apparently something has changes, as the automation stopped working, and I cannot save the automation, unless I choose values to update from the UI - which of course doesn't work 😅 Let me stress it out - It was working, then stopped, then I checked the automation, and I cannot save it.
The error:
An unknown error occurred. Please reload and try again
Hi @wojtek_pawlak ,
As it used to work and now it doesn't I'm unsure what the problem here would be. I haven't read anything about changes in that area that could affect this.
Have you tried recreating the rule and seeing if the new one would work? 👀
Additionally, as error isn't that specific, maybe try reaching out to Atlassian Support to see if they can help out with it?
Cheers,
Tobi
Thanks, yeah, once it becomes a burden I'll reach out to them
Yep, I recreated the rule, tried multiple ways of achieving that - including referencing custom field's id.

First, when you note "the automation stopped working", what did you observe in the audit log for those cases?
Yes, and...I agree with @Tomislav Tobijas that for "weird symptom" automation errors, try disabling the rule and re-creating it from scratch.
I recall there are some open defects related to value changes to the Parent field and automation rules, and so perhaps work on those caused the rule to stop working as expected. Re-creating the rule will offer a clean slate where the current rule engine state is used when it is saved and later run.
Kind regards,
Bill
