I need help, if does somebody have experience with this kind of case,

what could happen if a Jira server is conect with a SQL Server version that is not supported by Atlassian?  Would Jira let me even do it or not?  What does it mean that plataform is not supported by Atlassian?

Hi @Sofia Quintero ,

in general, Jira will let you connect to any database server, also to the ones, that are not supported.

But there might be problems, because there is no driver, that fits, there might be problems, because the way, the server reacts to SQL commands has changed or because functionality the server offers, has changed.

If your server is newer than the supported versions, you're probably on a good way, but there is no guarantee.

If a platform is not supported by Atlassian it either means, that the platform has not yet been tested or that it has been tested and there were errors that must be fixed. But Atlassian don't tell us, why something is not on the support platform list.

So you'll have to try it out yourself, in best case you'll just have a notice in the health check, that you are not on a supported platform, in worst case, you'll break your database at some point.

Hello,

Did you test if it works on SQL 2019?

We have Jira, Jira Service Desk and Confluence and we would like to upgrade our SQL server from 2017 to 2019.

Hi, Konings! I wanted to let you know that there's an in progress feature request for this - Add support for Jira on Microsoft SQL Server 2019 . It's aimed at the first half of 2021.

Cheers,
