We stopped working with sprints. I kindly ask not to question this :)
We got some scheduled issues running, which end up in backlog after being created, because there are no sprints and you cannot decide where they should be created.
I just tried to add any automation that will help me to move them to our board instead, but it does not work.
Anyone with an idea how scheduled issues are gonna be created on the board instead of backlog without using sprints?
Thanks for your suggestions.
A kanban board (in a company managed project) displays issues based on a filter. That may be just a selection of all issues in one project, or even a specific selection of issues from multiple projects, a set of statuses, issue types, ...
Issues are displayed in columns on the board based on their status. Each column on the board should be mapped to (at least one) status. Your board backlog should be mapped to 1 status, usually the first status in your workflow. The first column on the actual board would normally be mapped to the next status in that same workflow.
You do not create issues on a board. You create them in a project and they appear on your board because they are retrieved via the board filter I mentioned before. Initially in the backlog if the initial status of your workflow is mapped correctly.
To make your issues move from the backlog into the actual first column of the board, all you need to do is transition them from the initial workflow status into the status mapped to the first column of your actual kanban board (in automation: transition issue action). Updating the status will automatically make them appear in the right place on the board.
Hope this helps!
Sorry, I was not precise.
I'm talking about the backlog and I want to schedule issues created in the "board", and not the "backlog" as per screenshot.
