Scheduled Issues with Sub-Tasks

Marlo Dykes February 1, 2024

Scenario: I have created a Scheduled Issue that has 10 sub-tasks.

Is it possible to execute a Scheduled Issue and only a portion of Sub-tasks?  So for instance, if i only needed 2 of the 10, is this possible?

Hi @Marlo Dykes how are you creating the sub-tasks?  Knowing your original design might help.  Do you have plugin's in your instance to help with this?  etc.  Knowing this would sure help.

we don't have any plug-ins.

I created the scheduled task and then within that scheduled task, i created sub-tasks.

this is not using 'automation' as they have now in JIRA.  This is using the Scheduled Issues function.

It is possible, it all depends on how you determine how many sub-tasks are needed. Does the issue has a field on it that controls that?

Not sure what you mean.

it is a manual process of determining # of subtasks that are needed when creating the new task.  So once i assess what is needed and i want to execute the scheduled issue, then i only want a sub-set of the subtasks... is it possible to do that?
