Scope Creep in Active Sprint

Peyush Agarwal January 17, 2022

Hi,

I have multiple Scrum teams working for 3 week Sprint. What I want is try to find out what all JIRA have been moved out without my knowledge from Active Sprint. I tried to write a query using "WAS IN" and "CHANGED FROM" but it seems both doesnt support Sprint field.

Basically I want to track 2 things:

1. Scope that has been added to current Sprint

2. Scope that has been moved out from Current Sprint

What are the ways we can trace such jira?

We do this proactively (meaning I am not sure that you can do this after-the-fact in JQL)

Instead, we use Jira automation to watch for edits to the Sprint field while within an active sprint, then label the tickets as Scope-creep.  This gives you the info you need, but you have to do it in advance.

You can be very specific within the automation rule, I'm skipping some detail here.
