Scripted Fields ScriptRunner "invalid data returned"

Dawn Rodney

Hello,

I finally was able to successfully run an example test script in ScriptRunner (it failed over and over again, then after I stepped away and returned, it magically worked.)

I am testing the Sum up story point below an epic test script.

It looks like it worked. See below screenshot. The sum of the story points is accurate. Screenshot on 2021-03-29 at 14_28_18.png

Then when I click through to the stories within Jira and click the Scripted Fields field, then I get this error. I have checked the inputs, and they appear to be accurate. Any ideas why I am getting this error?

Hi Dawn,

It sounds as if you are using the example we have in the docs page located here.

This example as mentioned will only show the value on the Epic Issue type as that is how the code is designed to work as the if block that the code is wrapped in is checking if the issue type is an Epic issue.

This means that when configuring the scripted field you should set the Issue Types for the scripted field to just be Epic as the page linked above mentions so that it does not show up on Story Issues.

I hope this information helps.

Regards,

Kristian

Hi @Dawn Rodney ,

please, how does your script look like - which test script did you use? Thank you.
