Scrum project template and default issue type

Anne Pan July 21, 2022

Hi all,

I use the Scrum template to create new project but there's an issue type keeps occurring in the new project.

So as it shows, there are only Epic, story, bug, task, and sub-task in the Scrum template.截圖 2022-07-22 11.40.32.png

However, after I created the project, there's an issue type "story1" been added too.

Does anyone know why this happened? Is there any configuration I missed?

Thanks,

Anne

Hi @Anne Pan,

That's quite special. Never seen that before. Could you have a look into <your site>.atlassian.net/jira/settings/issues/issue-types and see if you can find and remove the Story1 issue type there? And then try creating a project again.

If that doesn't work, I would contact Atlassian support directly to connect to your site and see what is going on.

Hope this helps!

Hi Walter,

Thanks for your reply. I've deleted story1 and it became normal after creating new projects. And I just want to check that there's no way to edit the template's default settings, right? What happened before was not normal and we can't figure out why it happened unless looking for support help?

Hi @Anne Pan,

I am not aware of any way you could edit the default templates. Looking at the description of Story1 in your screenshot, my guess is that somehow a copy of the original Story issue type must have ended up in your instance, probably also including the (behind the scenes) link to the template.
