Search query with 'Start Date' is empty return tickets with filled 'Start Date'

Alik Kudlaenko February 20, 2023

I'm trying to find all tickets with missed 'Start Date' but following query

'Start Date' is EMPTY

return tickets with filled 'Start Date' and with empty 'Start Date'.
Any suggestion or workaround?

Hello @Alik Kudlaenko

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

Can you show us an example of the output that shows the Start Date field is not empty?

Alik Kudlaenko February 21, 2023

Query returns all available tickets wether 'Start Date' is empty or not.

When you are creating the filter and typing in Start Date for the field name, do you see multiple fields named Start Date as possible matches?

There is a built in System field for Start date, with a lower case "d". I notice your field has an upper case "D". That suggests to me that there is more than one "start date" field defined in your system.

Another custom field may have been created named Start Date with a capital "D" for use in Company Managed projects. Custom fields named Start Date with a capital "D" may have been created within Team Managed projects. You have to make sure you are using the specific Start Date field(s) that applies to the project(s) from which you want to retrieve issues.

You may need to enlist the aid of your Jira Administrators to figure out which Start Date field you need to include in your filter.
