Searching for a Confluence page in issue link dialog gives an error

In Jira, I trying to search for a page in link dialog subsection Confluence Page, I can see the name of my two confluence spaces, if I search something this message is returned to me:

The JIRA server was contacted but has returned an error response. We are unsure of the result of this operation.

It might be related to the Application Link settings on your instance. Try to reestablish again the Application link, by deleting the current one and recreate new Application link. Ensure that there's only one type of authentication is enabled, while both server are reachable. If the issue still persist, I would suggest you to raise a support ticket at https://support.atlassian.com.
