Security certificate

I am currently working on setting up and configure Jira on our servers, I have succesfully installed Jira and is currently trying to use a security certificate in order to set the connection to safe. I have followed the instructions in this link:

When starting up Jira it redirect to designated port 8443 but the connection is still unsafe.

I had to add relaxedQueryChars to server.xml file in the first place to make jira start up again after followed the tutorial.

Could You please tell more about cert? Did You sign trust CA http://www.cacert.org/ ?

What show cert status?
