Selected issue type persists after a logout

Pascal Robert January 28, 2019

Hi,

We have a project where we change the default issue type to something else than other projects use. But I found out that it's not working for some users, because it worked for me, but for two other users, the default selection was something else.

Looks like it's because of this:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-change-the-default-issue-type-displayed-at-the-create-issue-screen-707986896.html

I do understand the logic of this, but the problem we have is that the previous selection persists even after a logout/login. We do have SSO, so maybe something related to SSO and sessions?

Thanks.

Hello Pascal,

Welcome to Atlassian community.

Actually, the behavior you are facing is intended for all the users even after a logout/login.

As you can see in the reported bug, the default issue type will be respected only if the user has never created a ticket before, so the login/logout should not reset the default issue type. In fact, there are plans to remove this option in the future to avoid confusion.

For more information about it, you can check the explanation of our product manager in the reported bug:

Setting Default Issue Type to "None" Ignored
