I recently purchased the Jira Software license key, when I try to update in my Jira product it says the license key is expired. Please help.

did you update the licence key on your Jira instance after you purchased it ? If not, you will need to do this before upgrading, as explained in this link.
Once you have a valid licence, you can start the upgrade process.

I can confirm your starter license is valid and shouldn't be causing you any issues.
I've gone ahead and created a ticket for you with our Advocates team where they can verify if there are any issues with your license. Have a look at your email in a few minutes for that ticket number.
