Hi,
I'm using Jira Cloud with a Scrum project. On my current board I can set the color of each issue like this: Board Settings > Issue Color. Here I have some choices (Issue Type, Priority etc). I would like to set the colour as the Epic colour that the issue belongs to. Is there a way to do that, maybe using JQL?
Thanks,
Sara
Hello @Sara De Cristofano
Yes you can, you will have to create your colors based on queries, and add 14 Queries.
Then you can use the following query, replacing the number with values from 1-14:
"Epic Color" = ghx-label-1
To get the correct color, you can use a color picker of your choice, or take guesses on which colors are close.
Cheers,
Andrej
I just noticed, that you are searching for the cild issues of the epic, I'm afraid I do not know a way to traverse to them. Maybe if you copy the value to all child issues somehow 😊
But I think it is much easier if you simply display the epic link value on your cards. This way the Epic Link and its color will be shown as a value.

Hi Andrej, thanks for your reply. As you suggested I could display the epic Link Value but I was trying to make my cards as compact as possible, so I was wondering some different way to color code my board. Thanks for the advices!
