Setting Priorities so they only my Project

Andrew Smyth February 13, 2012

Further to my question yesterday, regarding amending Priorities which will only affect my Project rather than across the board (which I now gather is not possible):- I can set up a custom field call (say) 'Andy_Priority', but I would then need to "hide" the default 'Priority' field - is this possible, or again, does it hide it for all Projects?

These are probably basic questions, but I have just been given access to the product yesterday and asked to get an Incident Management system up and running ASAP, which is proving a challenge without any prior knowledge of the product whatsoever.

Yes, you can do that. The system priority field is global, but you can hide it using field configurations - that goes down to an issue-type level, although I'd recommend not doing that and sticking to hiding/showing it at a project level.

Briefly, you'll need to set up a new field configuration (I'd copy the existing one to be on the safe side, and don't edit it until you're ready), and a new field configuration scheme that uses that field configuration, then apply it to the project. Then go back and see what happens when you hide priority in the field configuration.
