Setting a default value for a field in the GH create screen

Is there a setting that I can set to set the default value to a field in the GH card/issue? I'm running JIRA 4.3.4/GH 5.6.8.

I know that I can default the priority field in a global setting but I don't see one for the component field.

There is a request for providing default value for system fields https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-4812

For the Component field specifically, see if this workaround in GH meets your need:

The 1st dropdown in GH under project name is Board (Planning Board, Task Board...). Select Planning Board. Then select "Component" in the 2nd dropdown and the name of the component you'd like to default to in the 3rd dropdown. Select any version on the 4th dropdown.

If you add a card now, the new card will default to the component and version you selected earlier.
