Setup new custom fields that show up for Epics for a particular board, but not all boards?

I have a project with multiple boards that use the same workflow scheme.  I want to setup new custom fields that show up for Epics for a particular board, but not all boards.  Is that possible or is it wishful thinking?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Boards are views of issues, not containers for them.  An issue that has a field will always have it, irrespective of how it is viewed.

But you can select what fields appear on the cards in a board.

So just for clarification, if I open up a particular issue type on a particular board and click "configure" to hide particular attributes, that will apply just to that board?
