Shop latest issues at the top of the Agile board (Work mode)

When we create a new issue in JIRA it automatically appears at the bottom of the associated column in the 'Work' mode of our Agile board. Is there a way to make this appear at the top automatically without having to click on the ticket and press the 'Send to Top' button?

I guess you sort the board using ORDER BY Rank DESC... That way the issue with the highest rank will appear at the top.... I have never done that though...
