We have 2 Scrum teams which work on the same project. To make them work better we are planning on having separate backlogs and separate boards for both the teams. We are now considering whether or not the 2 teams should be working on 2 separate sprints. Can you suggest what will be the pros and cons of having separate sprints for the 2 scrum teams.
Hi @Nischal Sharma ,
First of all, jira supports multiple sprints. You can implement the above functions in a single board. You can also create separate boards for multiple teams and filter them by JQL.
I think you need to confirm what the purpose of sharing a project with multiple teams. Usually, if the release version of the team, components, etc. are shared, then you can use the same project to manage.
I've given +1 to @Ollie Guan for his response.
The guidance I've always gone by is 1 project 1 backlog. As Ollie said, Jira can handle multiple sprints and multiple boards. I'd encourage you to synchronise the sprints i.e. both teams start and end sprints on the same day, because if you don't, you'll find some dependency between the teams and it'll be a nightmare.
