Show Scripted Date Field with other Date Fields on View Issue

1. I created a custom date field using some code from another thread (image below).  It's using the Date template but the Searcher seems stuck on Free Text (image below).
2. I can't get it to show up with the other date fields on the View Issue screen (image below)

Does anyone know how to group these in Server Version 7x?
