Show full name instead of username in Confluence from Jira User Picker field

Hi,

I'm having an issue pulling through the full name of a user into Confluence from a Jira issue which has a custom field in the screens of User Picker.

On the screen I can select myself:

And when the issue is published it also displays my full name on the issue itself in Jira:

When this is then pulled through from Confluence using the Jira issue filter into a table, I get the following:

As you can see the default reporter field is showing my full name, although the user picker field is showing a username. 

Any ideas how I can display the full name in Confluence from my user picker field?

This looks like the bug CONFSERVER-35256. Keep an eye on the bug report to get the latest update.

There is no update.  this JIRA was created 5 years ago and no progress has been made.
