Hey there.
Ever since we've been working with the Slackbot via Slack Connector in order to receive notes about changes in our tickets in Slack.
Now, we got a new employee, added him to the workspace (Slack and Jira), we've installed the Slack Connector and Jira Cloud. We've also been adjusting the settings about which changes he shall be notified.
Unfortunately though, throughout testing with creating tickets for him, mentioning him or assigning tickets to him, he won't receive any slackbot message.
What is it that we miss out here?
Hi Claas, welcome to the Community!
The particular app you are looking at is provided by WISOFT, an app vendor. I've looked at the marketplace listing for it and while it doesn't mention personal notifications there, I was able to find that this app should allow a user to receive personal notifications by looking at the app's documentation.
The plugin uses settings on a user's account in Jira to determine which Slack notifications are sent. The app's documentation on setting this up is available here. Installed in Jira, the connector should provide an extra "Slack settings" option on a user's account menu in Jira:
I'll also briefly mention that we recently shipped personal notifications in the official Jira Cloud for Slack app provided by Atlassian. The WISOFT app has more granular notification settings, but you could consider the Atlassian-provided app for this function if you're running into problems.
Cheers,
Daniel
Thank you Daniel for your detailed reply.
Well, we found all the settings and did everything accordingly already. Even then, things didn't work.
The last bit of your message actually sheds some more light in here, since I already had the feeling that things changed since we installed the tool 1/2 years ago and never had any reason to change something, until now, finally, a new employee started here.
We'll have a closer look on the Jira Cloud functions and hope we can do something similar there, even though the settings are way broader and therefor complicated.
We'll see. Thx anyway again.
Cheers,
Claas
