Using Jira Datacenter 8.13.9.
We use the Jira Server app in Slack. Is there some way to have the Slack posts threaded/grouped by issue or other criteria?
It can get very chatty when there’s more than one trigger/notification per issue, and this makes it difficult to wade through the clutter and track anything, as all the posts show up in a flat display.
If there were a way to have the app group/thread by issue key, we could expand and see all the updates per issue, then collapse and move on to the next one.
Hi @Lady Glencora !
I definitely understand the desire to thread notifications - otherwise there can be a lot of noise in the channel! We do have an open feature request logged for this on our public Jira instance: API-118 .
It's worth calling out that the Server versions of the Slack integrations are now open-source. While Atlassian maintains compatibility with new versions of Jira Server, we aren't actively adding new features to the Server integration apps. If you would like to add your own customizations/features to the integration, we encourage you to fork the public repository and customize it as you wish like we’ve seen many customers do. The app is published under an Apache 2.0 license, and contributions are welcome!
Cheers,
Daniel | Atlassian Support
