Sort order on History and Comments not working

I want the History and Comments for a ticket to go from most recent to oldest.  I think that's descending order.  This is what I did a few months ago.  I'm pretty sure it was working.  Now it definitely is not.  I'm not interested in a temporary fix, i.e. click the sort button.  Everybody on my team wants the most recent at the top, which is why I made the global change.

  • go to Administration -> System -> General Configuration and click on Advanced Settings
  • locate jira.issue.actions.order and change the value (asc) to "desc"

The reported behavior seems the same as the one described in the below ticket:

 

If that's the same issue then, as mentioned in above ticket, the workaround would be to:

Workaround

Disable the new board's issue detail view following the steps described below:

  1. Click on your avatar, at the bottom-left of the screen then click Profile
  2. Under Labs, disable Issue detail view moving the button to the left (the gray icon means "disabled").

PS: ask your users to do it, the steps above works only for the current user.

 

Please review above ticket and, if this is the same issue, you may want to vote for it and add yourself as a watcher so that you will be notified in case of any progress.

In case this is not the same issue (or the one linked to it), please provide more details.
