We are using JIRA Software and with the current version, we are unable to sort and manage attachments on any JIRA issues. I can't sort by name/ date, ascending/ descending. I can't switch between Thumbnails or list view. Can't download all attachments on a given JIRA issue. The default is always a thumbnail.
The old view has all these options which I have mentioned above. It's very helpful to have the ability to manage the attachments in a JIRA issue. Please bring it back.
Or if there is a way to enable the options for attachments, please let me know the steps.
I have attached two images. I like the one with attachment option in the new version of JIRA without going to the older version.
Hello @Vinay Hosamane
Thank you for your feedback about this functionality.
Indeed, the new issue view does not have the option to manage attachments like the old view, however, we clearly understand how the lack of this feature is impacting some of our customers.
In order to implement the "manage attachments option" in the new issue view, we created the following task with our development team:
- Ability to Manage and Download All Attachments in New Issue View
Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.
As you might know, the new issue view is still a lab feature on JIRA that we are still upgrading to get a final and robust view. That being said, the possible workarounds we can suggest you would be:
1 - Turn off the new issue view for now, by clicking in your profile picture at the bottom left corner > Settings > Turn off the new issue view.
2 - Use direct links:
- Download All
https://<JIRA_Domain>/secure/attachmentzip/<Issue_ID>.zip
- Manage (Download All is available on this page)
https://<JIRA_Domain>/secure/ManageAttachments.jspa?id=<Issue_ID>
To get issue ID in the new view:
- Click the ... button on the top right side
- Hover the mouse onto Clone or Delete
- See issue ID from browser's status bar
