Sorting by custom field single select value

Other than adding a a numerical value before the single select value. is there another way you can program jira's sort order for the custom field instead of it sorting alphabetically. 

Example here of the configuration change I am referring to, to accomplish the sort order

Unfortunately, there are no other options.  Your method does the trick, unless you to manually sort them with the arrows which is annoying.  I wish they would have a drag and drop feature instead.
