Sorting of priority seem broken again on cloud jira

Shawn April 11, 2019

The sorting bug from 2012 seem to have returned to haunt us.

Sorting on Priority now gives us:

  1. Blocker
  2. Critical
  3. Major
  4. Minor
  5. Trivial
  6. Medium

We can get around this by assigning all medium to Minor and not ever using Medium so its not a "Blocker" on your kanban board but can you please resolve it or tell me how to resolve it.

Hello Shawn,

I hope you are having a nice day.

As you can see in the screenshots below, I'm able to properly sort my JQL query by priority in my JIRA Cloud instance:

That been said, please provide us the information below so we can further troubleshoot:

- Navigate to JIRA Settings > Issues > Priorities and check what is the order that your priorities are configured. Additionally, provide us a screenshot of the page

- In the same page, try to change the order of your priorities and then change it back to what it was, just to enforce a reindex in the field

- Confirm that you are using the parameters ASC or DESC to define the priority sort in the JQL search, just like displayed in the screenshot

Let me know if this information helps.
