We are experiencing an issue with the JIRA mobile app's notification system that is affecting our ability to respond to critical system issues during out-of-hours shifts. The current notification alert only rings for 2-3 seconds, which is not sufficient for alerting our out-of-hours personnel in a timely manner.
Due to the short duration of the alert sound, it is often missed, and there is no option to customize the tone or duration of the notification. This is causing significant concerns, especially when critical systems experience downtime and require immediate attention.
We kindly request your assistance in addressing the following:
Customizable Alert Tone: We would like to have the ability to set a custom notification sound or choose from a wider range of tones that are more easily recognizable and can grab the attention of out-of-hours personnel.
Extended Notification Duration: It would be highly beneficial if the alert could ring for a longer duration, allowing enough time for it to be noticed and acted upon by the person on call.
Could you please advise if there is a solution or workaround to make these changes to the JIRA mobile app's alert system?

Hi, I've already gone through this discussion, but honestly, I'm quite frustrated. It's hard to believe that such a large platform like JIRA doesn't have a ringtone that lasts more than a couple of seconds. Do you realize that someone on call can't wake up to a ringtone in the middle of the night or during travel that lasts only 2-3 seconds? In Opsgenie, there was a ringtone that would ring for much longer, but all the sounds provided in JIRA Cloud are under 2-3 seconds.
How is it possible to get the same sounds from Opsgenie migrated to JIRA Cloud? As I've mentioned before, this is absolutely critical for the on-call person to be able to acknowledge the alert. If the ringtone only rings for less than 2 seconds, it means the on-call person would need to have a loud Bluetooth speaker just to hear it and wake up.
Can you please escalate this to the development team and push for an upgrade to the notification sounds? This really needs to be addressed.

I would like to reiterate @Rahul Sonar concern. We have exactly the same use case, the current notifications are not even close to the Opsgenie sound, and I can see our on-call engineers missing critical notifications
