We set up our backlog in a spreadsheet initially and imported it. We'll be doing sprint planning tonight. When the team was looking at the backlog in Jira, the developer and designer said, "Who do assign the 'Need questionnaire for user' story to as we both have pieces of it. (As does likely the cybersecurity guy).
So it seems to me like we have two options - create a design story and then another develop story and assign them to each person. (Both under the same Epic.) Or make subtasks of one Questionnaire story.
Any preference here? I know the work will get done either way but I wonder if one is better than the other for tracking or burndown or any other purposes.
The primary consideration here. IMO, is that if you are using agile methodology and scrum boards then stories and all associated subtasks should be completed within a single sprint. If the components of a story will not be, or are not required to be, completed at the same time then I would create different stories and link them as related.
