Hello,
When updating a ticket I see in the screen layout the last sprint and the number of sprints the ticket participated in.
example
Sprint SPRINT40 + 1
Meaning that the issue has participated in 2 sprint
However when in the output of a filter (filter report) the sprint column shows two values
SPRINT40
SPRINT39
How do I enforce the first format in the output of a filter?
Thank you
Enrique
Hi @Enrique - this is definitely not an ideal feature of JIRA when it displays all the historical data in the sprint field, but unfortunately the way it is. One thing you can try in your advanced filter is to filter for openSprints if the issue is in the sprint that is currently open and ongoing. Here's an example: "Epic Link" = "ABCD-12" and sprint in openSprints(). Another option is to remove the historical sprints from the actual issues, but I realize that is not ideal.
Unfortunately since this is the way Jira displays data, I do not have any other suggestions.
Hi Summer,
Thank you for your response.
As a clarification, I am not having issues filtering, my problem is the way it is being displayed, I want it only to show the last sprint and (+3) beside the sprint value, if the issue participated in 4 sprints.

Hi @Enrique
I don't think you can configure the format of the sprint field in Jira's native filter view.
The only built-in solution that I can think of is to use Jira Automation to calculate the Last sprint and the Number of sprints of your issues, write these values into custom fields, and add the custom fields to your filter view.
Hope this helps,
Best,
Hannes

... and just to add to the above: If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of so-called smart columns that aren’t natively available, including the Last sprint and the Number of sprints (along with many other sprint-related columns).
This is how it looks in action:
As you can see above, you can easily sort and filter by your smart columns; you can also use them across JXL's advanced features, such as support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
This all just works - there's no scripting or automation whatsoever required.
Any questions just let me know!

Hi @Hannes Obweger - JXL for Jira
Thank you for the suggestion, at this point, I want to understand why Jira is showing the sprints field in a filter using this format
and for only some users, I checked that column definition, and FIeld configuration and I could not find any difference, I looked for a potential limitation on the width of the field to be displayed, to no avail.
Thank you for the time dedicated to my question
Enrique
