Starting a Classic Project

Alex Iser March 13, 2019

We are migrating to JIRA and are in the process of picking the project type most suitable for our needs. Right now it seems that the best candidate is the Classic Kanban.

We are a bit concerned though, that because of the release of the Next-Gen projects, the Classic projects will not be as supported or even get discontinued all together. On the other hand, the Next-Gen projects still lack some features that are vital to us.

How risky will it be then, to start a Classic project on the long run?

What do you think?

Hello,

Where did you find information that the classic projects will not be supported? I have not seen such information.

I didn't find such information. But its not an unreasonable concern, I think.

Are you saying the Classic projects are here to stay for at least a few years?

I believe it will stay at least for a few years. There were no information yet that Atlassian wants to expire these projects.
