Still see my company's activity log when I log in temporarily as another user. Can they see it too?

Deleted user March 27, 2019

As an Admin, I logged in as another user (a client, say, George), to ensure that their permissions were set up properly. However, immediately after being logged in as George, my own company's full activity log is displayed.

I ensured that George only has access to his respective project, but the content found in George's activity log has information re. every single one of my company's projects, not just his project.

Q: When George himself accesses Jira, does his activity log display all of MY company's activity? I'm not sure why it wouldn't have restricted activity to just George's project.

Thanks,

Frank

@[deleted] , If you were using Jira Server, this would be easy as you could use this Atlassian Article: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-restrict-project-access-to-different-isolated-user-groups-290750862.html?_ga=2.232444511.1977886377.1553615136-772825270.1546965832 which would hide the activity log like you want to. However, the note at the top does specify that it is not applicable to Cloud based on functional differences. That leads me to believe that it probably isn't possible and won't be.  Have you tried clicking through on the links in the Activity log?  Do they allow the user access to those projects?  If not, that may be the best you can do.

@Peter DeWitt thanks for the response. When I log-in as another user, I can access all projects, their spaces, and boards by clicking links through the activity log.

I'm wondering if the content populated in the user's activity log is simply a remnant of my own activity prior to switching to the other user. If this is the case, it may work its way out of their activity log over time, but there's still the issue of unrestricted access, initially.

I'm realizing there may not be a solution for Cloud, but I appreciate the insight. Thanks!
