Stop Checklist for Jira Cloud from formatting a Jira hyperlink

Developer wants to put a Development Branch into the Checklist.  A Jira Issue number is part of the branch name.  Checklist keeps formatting that part of the name into a hyperlink to the Jira.  How do we enter the name so that it is left as is with no formatting

Hi Linda,

You could surround your development branch name with markdown formatting like italic or bold, or simply with double quotes, this would prevent the system from parsing it as issue key.

Examples

*ASD-123* -> ASD-123

**ASD-123** -> ASD-123

"ASD-123" -> "ASD-123"

 Let me know if this suits your needs!

Hi @Linda Rasmussen,

I don't thing this behaviour is specific to the checklist, but rather to the built-in smart link features of Jira. While that's a heavily promoted feature by Atlassian, there's also been a lot of fuss about it from a user perspective.

While for now there is not much you can do about it, it seems that an option to toggle the behaviour on/off is in the making. You can read an update on what they are currently building on this feature request ticket: JRACLOUD-72429 - you can watch it to stay informed about when it gets released.

Hope this helps!
