In Jira cloud - We see 'Story Points' twice in the custom field and also on the issue view screen.
However - in the new view (I really don't like the new jira issue view), adding values to both the Story point field and then moving to old view does show only 1 story point. Now, the question is: How Story points custom fields are getting created (did trashed one few days back) and again a new one is poped again.

One of your admins is adding the field, you'll need to tell them to stop doing it, or remove their ability to do it. Check the audit log for a starter, that tells us when admins are creating or removing fields.
Thanks, Nic. but here's the catch - no other admin is creating the Story Point field.
The Log just 'name me' as Field created. Another part - I delete the field, and within a few minutes the field is back here in the custom fields and also in the project screen.
For now, I tried deleting the other one and now it's not creating any new field which is strange that system is creating a field by it's own.

The Jira software application will create the field if it is missing. But only once. You have a human adding copies of the field here and you need to get them to stop doing it.

I believe that while creating a project (template), it created another set of fields as 'Story Point' as none were created by any admin especially. This caused the Jira to automatically create another Story Point (in-use and duplicated) field.
Generally, If the field is 'important' then it should act as System field (Story points here) than custom field.
