Story point estimate changing once completed

Hey all,

first time question.

So when I first set up the board I used a custom field for points estimated (so it was a drop down for points). Cards were accepted (now in sprint 3) during the sprint.

I checked my velocity charts (last week after sprint 2) and no points was recorded. So I then set up the usual story point column that jira provided. I moved the points from the custom column to the jira field. After filling it in but the velocity points are still not there when in the velocity chart.

Looks like we have done nothing can anyone help?????

Hi Kris

I think your problem is that you've put the story points into the story points field AFTER the sprint started.

If, for your next sprint, you make sure that the Jira story points field has a value for each issue, BEFORE starting the sprint, everything should then work correctly.

Are you estimating on the Sub-task level?

How many sprints are complete?

Could you screenshot your board columns if possible? 

Also, were there any changes to the issues workflow, or removal of statuses?
