Story points - type of data

Can you help me to understand if the story points field is possible to put the frational number? For example, 0.5?

yes you can. "0,5" as the value for story points can be set in Jira Software Cloud.

Apart from the technical feasibility I cannot recommend to start at 0,5. The minimum for one team should be "1". If you have identified stories, that are half of a "1" story, then adjust your scale. The 0,5 will be you new "1".

The reason behind this practice is to give the smallest "something" of a story a 1, the simplest number after the "0". Simple enough for everybody to understand how much is behind this story when implemented.

But anyhow, this is a recommendation. If the team is fine with numbers between 0 and 1, go with them, as long as they are successful. But don't do this with beginners ...
