So, if I create a new child issue (Story) in the Epic Page it will not show on the board. If i create the story in the board it will show on the board and in my Epic Page (in Child issues section). How do I get all my stories to show in the board for a specific epic?
This is the Child Issues for my Epic and you see my two stories. If you click either story you see they roll up to my Epic (as they should)
When I go to the board I only see TEST story and not Home Use Program Story. The only way I can get stories to appear in the board is if I create the story from the board. If i created it from the Epic page (under child issues) it won't appear. How do I get all my stories for the epic to appear on the board?
Hello @Alvin
It looks like this is a Team Managed project and Kanban board. Is that correct?
Do you have the Backlog feature enabled for the board?
If you have the Backlog feature enabled for the board (and it is a Team Managed project Kanban board) then newly created issues will go into the Backlog and you have to go to the Backlog screen and move them from the Backlog to the Board section on that screen. Here is an example.
Notice on the Backlog screen there is a section for Backlog and for Board, and I have two issues assigned to the Team Epic; one showing in each section.
When I go to the Board view, only the issue that was in the Board section on the Backlog screen shows.
The Backlog feature is useful in Kanban when you have a lot of issues in your backlog and you don't want to clutter your board display with all of them. You can move a few at a time onto the board to keep the team focused on the highest ranked issues.
Thank you so much. They were in backlog, but I don't use backlog (as the epics are relatively small) so never thought to look there. I see them now!
