Hello friends, I'm writing to this community for the first time. I'm looking for a way to finely configure the "Roles" tool in Jira's process automation.
We have a video production process for various authors/youtube channels. Authors/Channels are identified by labels (tags), such as @TamaraEidelmanHistory. Depending on the channel label, we need to assign an author's assistant who will work with the content.
Jira provides excellent automation tools that allow task assignment to users based on their assigned roles. In this specific case, the role is called "Author's Assistant." However, we have several such assistants on our team, and each one works with a specific author/channel. When automatic assignment occurs, it might assign a person with the same role but who is not actually the assistant for that particular channel.
The question is, how can I ensure that task assignments take into account the channel label, determine who exactly is the assistant for that specific author, and assign the task to them?
I'd prefer not to do this with a simple conditional statement (if, else) because the number of channels and assistants may grow. I need a systematic solution.
Thank you.
Hi Dmitry,
The feature that you describe is supported for components, but not for labels.
