Hi,

sub task not visible on kanban board. Can you please let me know how to resolve it, I have verified the board filter query and seems it has included the Sub-tasks.

Regards,
Suma

Hi @ibm_kustagi_mercedes-benz_com and welcome to the Community,

  • do you have all statuses mapped?
  • is there any Sub-Filter that may filter out Sub-Tasks?
  • What is your swimlane setting?
  • Any Quick filters active?

Well, @Admin Jovanio gave you a list of possibilities why Subtasks would "disappear". If nothing of that list appears to be the reason, maybe you could provide some screenshots with a little context.

I don't see any obvious error/misconfiguration.

Hello @ibm_kustagi_mercedes-benz_com , welcome to comunnity !

If you have already validated that the board filter is correct, bringing the subtasks, it may be that the status of the subtasks is not mapped in the board columns. Can you validate?

Status are present in the board when verified in the columns . Any issue in Jira cloud ??

Admin Jovanio April 8, 2025

in this momento we have the Maintenance Notification for Jira and Confluence Platforms (Singapore and Northern California Only)

https://status.atlassian.com/

If it is not in these locations, I believe it is some configuration.

Quick Summary: Why Sub-tasks Might Not Show on Your Board

Sub-task status is not mapped Go to Board Settings > Columns and make sure all sub-task statuses are mapped to a column.

Swimlanes by parent issue hide sub-tasks Ensure parent issues are included in the board filter, or change Swimlanes to “None”.

Permissions or issue security Check if you have permission to view the sub-tasks and that no Issue Security Scheme is hiding them.

Board filter excludes sub-task types Make sure the filter includes subTaskIssueTypes() or does not filter out sub-tasks.

Jira cache or board glitch Try accessing the board in an incognito window, or recreate the board to test.
