Hi, I've seen posts where you can't see sub-bugs under type do not display in Sprint boards. We want to manage sub-bugs by Sprint and not have to pull an external spreadsheet to determine the sub-bugs we have before a release is finalized. Even though we added sub-bug to our filters, no sub-bugs appear in the sprint board queue. How and where can these be managed in a board without having to pull an excel report by Epic and Story? Is there no way to track sub-bugs by sprint in a board? Thank you
Hi Tony,
Welcome to community! Sub bugs aren't a native function of Jira, so what I imagine you mean is that your company has created an Issue Type called Sub-Bugs which is a sub-task type issue type
For this you need to enable them on a board level for them to show. without seeing your board setup the easiest way is to change the swimlanes to stories [1] but that comes with other disadvantages such as all work needing to be done on that level.
In general though subtasks are basically supposed to be a checklist. Stories themselves should really be no longer than one sprint's worth of work. And then sub-tasks if needed are a couple if not fewer story points
Best,
Clark
To add to what @Clark Everson and @Craig Nodwell have said, there is currently a bug on Jira Cloud where boards do not show sub-tasks from team-managed projects (not Server or DC, because they don't have team-managed projects)

Hi @Tony Mlodzianowski welcome to the community.
You'll have to provide a bit more detail about your instance.
I'm thinking that this sub-bugs is a custom issue type of type sub-task is that correct?
Can you share the filter query you are using for your board.
How is your board configured re: swimlanes?
