Sum up estimated time of stories in parent issue

Gerrit Sußner June 7, 2021

Hello everybody,

We are time estimating stories. These stories have a custom issue type called Capability as a parent. The parent issue Capability also has an Epic as a parent. So the overall structure is as follows: Story -> Capability -> Epic. Now I want to show in the parents issue the sumed up time. So for example,  if I have two stories, one estimated with 10 hours and the other estimated with 5 hours, I want to see in the parent issue the sumed up time, in this case 15 hours. And of course I want to see the sumed up time of all Capabilities in the Epic issue. How is this possible?

Thank you for your help!

Hi @Gerrit Sußner

Welcome to community!

I assume that you use advanced roadmap for jira for maintaining the hierarchy between issues, if so, you can use it's feature of rolling up estimates to the parents?
