Is there an automated report which can give me a summary of all stories in a certain status?  Looking for similar information as when you click summarize within a story but on a report which we can use to build into a weekly update

Welcome @UK - Nugent_ Clare

You can create a dashboard with a filter gadget that will refresh on the minimum interval of 15 minutes.

Also, you can create an issue subscription where on the weekly basis you would receive an email of the status of these issues. Full guide can be found here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/use-the-issue-collector/

Hi @UK - Nugent_ Clare

Nauris from eazyBI here.

In eazyBI, you can use the Time dimension with Weeks selected in Rows, together with the Issues history measure split by the Transition Status dimension. Filter the report by "unresolved" resolution and "Story" issue type, and you'll get a report showing how many stories were in each status at the end of each week:

eazyBI is a reporting app available in the Atlassian Marketplace or in Jira -> Apps -> Explore more apps section.

Let me know if you have any additional questions on this!
Best regards,
Nauris / eazyBI support

Hi @UK - Nugent_ Clare ,

Could you please elaborate a bit on the automation side? Is it an email, dashboard or exported file in a specific format you need?

@UK - Nugent_ Clare We have been continuously developing two apps for this use case for 10+ years!

Both are applicable, depending on your preferred format:

  1. You can use the Better PDF Automation to...
    1. ... create a standard Jira dashboard, export it to PDF and email the PDF (or save it) automatically using your preferred schedule. You set it up once, then the  weekly emails will just come to your mailbox.
    2. ... run a JQL query, export the result to PDF (as a list or with full details) and email it, save it.
  2. You can use the Better Excel Automation to...
    1. ... run a JQL query, export the result to an Excel spreadsheet (as a list or with full details) and email it, save it.

The email itself is fully customizable and would look like this:
