Swimlane Query JQL -How to create - Group by Reporter or other field - unique values on each ticket

I do not see how to create the swimlane query where it groups board content like it does when using the seeded/standard field - Assignee.  For example if we want to use field Reporter as swimlane.  What is the Query?  We don't want to say Reporter is x or not blank.  If we say not blank, it puts them all in one group.  So, what is the syntax so it groups on Reporter (or any field) like it does Assignee?

if you want to do my reporter you will have to construct a query for each reporter and then any reporter not in a query will fall under "everything else" swimlane.

reporter = fred

reporter = sally 

reporter = rachel

reporter = samir

...
