Switch off add versions and components from within the Fix Version/s?

In JIRA 6.3, project administrators can add versions and components from within the Fix Version/s, Affected Version/s and Component/s fields. Is it possible to switch this off?

No, the quick entry is a deliberate design - most users find it very useful.

Thanks for the quick answer. I find it useful, too. The only concern I have is that people store the same version several times under different names.
