TO- ID's

H Schuyler Collins March 6, 2015

At my new job we have to keep issues in another location until we port those projects into Jira. In this spreadsheet there will be items that do and do not exist. I have to keep these 2 locations in sync.

If I can export from JIRA with the auto assigned ID's (TO-33,TO-55 etc) in the export I can  sync much easier but I'm not sure what the actual name is for this ID and if this is possible. I would certainly think it should  be!

It's usually referred to as "issue key".

There is also an issue ID we talk about too - the difference is that the ID of an issue does not change, but is rarely exposed to the users.  The users see the Key (and it can change if the issue is moved to another project)

To get the issue key out in your export, just make sure you have included the column "Key" and you should find your TO-33, TO-55 comes out in there.
