Tagging users has stopped working in JIRA Cloud

Michael Horton September 7, 2018

For at least a few months now, we've lost the ability to "@tag" names in our comments. It tries, but never finds any of our users.  We can manually tag {~myuser], but that doesn't seem to send an email to them. We can also add folks to the participants list, and Confluence works just fine. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi Michael,

I suspect that the Global Permission for Browse Users and Groups has been disabled:

  • Choose > System
  • Select Global Permissions to open the Global Permissions page, which lists JIRA's global permissions.
  • Browse users and groups to view and select users or groups from the user picker, and share issues. Users with this permission can see the names of all users and groups on your site.

Hope that helps
