to some degree this is subjective IMO and speaking of my opinion here is more...
I use a combination of Tasks w/ Sub-tasks, Tasks only and Tasks w/ checklists.
- Tasks only - used when they are self-contained work items that do not rely on other activities to be considered complete.
- Task and sub-tasks - when the things that need to get done are not clear or would benefit from breaking down into smaller bits. Also, if the task will involved more than a single person sub-tasks work.
- Tasks w/ checklist - when I don't want/need the overhead of sub-tasks but want to be able to check off all the things I need to get done to consider the task complete.
To me #3 is 'most efficient' in most cases but it does require an addon.
