Technical Task not required

Srinivas Patruni February 26, 2014

We no longer need Technical Task issue type which was created automatically by JIRA Agile. On the description of the Technical Task, it was mentioned as "Created by JIRA Agile - do not edit or delete. Issue type for a technical task." Is it safe to delete?

No and yes.

You should not delete the issue type. Bits of Agile sort of assume it's always there and although in theory you should be ok to remove it, in reality, it can cause some hiccups.

However, you will be absolutely fine if you define issue type schemes that do not use it, even in Agile projects. It's safe to remove in the sense of "never actually use it"
