I have been suggested to use Scrum template by someone in this forum and it works preety well for my software development projects for my company. Howerver, I have faced few technical problems in it:
1) All my tasks donot show the remaining time left for my task. Lets say, I have 'Task A' that I estimated would take me 4 hrs and I already did some work on it for 3 hours. It does'nt show me that I have 1 hour remaining. It shows for few tasks but the time is wrong. I use Tempo to log my time.
2) I am the admin for the project and my project is company managed project. I am the admin of my company's Jira account as well. But still, I cannot delete a task in my scrum board. I can delete the tasks if I am using some other template. But for scrum, this does'nt work.
It would be really helpful if I could solve this proble. For my tasks or sprint as well, it would ber better to show the remaining time for that task instead of original estimated time.
Hi @Biswash Lamsal
What I’d suggest you check/do:
In the board for your Scrum project: go to Board → Configure → Estimation (or Board Settings → Estimation) and check that "Time Tracking" is enabled.

Thank You Gor Greyan for you feedback. My time tracking is on for the board and it does show the remaining time for some of the tasks. However, it does not show the remaining times for few. Also, the remaining time that it shows is wrong.

Hi @Biswash Lamsal
Let's check the following points:
1. Check board estimation settings
Go to Board → Configure → Estimation → make sure Time tracking is selected.
2. Verify the “Time tracking” field on issues
Ensure the Time tracking field (Original + Remaining estimate) is visible on issue screens.
3. Tempo logging settings
In Tempo → Settings → Logging Time, set “Remaining estimate” to required so it updates automatically.
4. Adjust the estimate option
When logging time, use Adjust estimate → Auto so Jira reduces Remaining automatically.
5. Don’t rely on the Original estimate only
Editing Original estimate doesn’t recalc Remaining — update Remaining manually if needed.
6. Sub-task roll-ups
Use Σ Remaining Estimate to see totals if you estimate at the sub-task level.
7. Deleting issues
Check the Project permission scheme → ensure you have Delete Issues permission.
(Admin role alone isn’t enough; if the board has multiple projects, all must allow it.)

Hi @Gor Greyan
Thank you for the feedback. I have tried all the steps that you have mentioned. I don't get an option to automatically adjust estimate  in Tempo itself.  I have made the remaining estimate field mandatory in Tempo but as I put an input of my worklog, it does not automatically adjust the time. Instead it looks like I have to manually input the remaining time which is very inconvenient.

Dear @Biswash Lamsal
Sorry, one question.
Your team is using Tempo for logging, am I right?

Dear @Biswash Lamsal
Sorry, for the auto-adjustment, it is needed to use Jira's native log work dialog.
I saw, Tempo doesn't have that feature.

That is fine. Do you have a better way to do the precise estimation of time using Tempo?

Hi, Dear @Biswash Lamsal
I don't have any other better solution for now, as we are using native logging and Tempo for the planning.

Regarding the remaining estimate, Tempo does update it to Jira accordingly, it's possible that there is a delay, but it's automatically updated in the backend.
If it doesn't update, please contact Tempo Support for further investigation.
